Hi Redd! I hope this reaches you. I just learned about computors or I probably would hav e got in touch with you sooner. It is good to see that you are doing so well. I guess I should have got a Led Zepplan pile of records etc as well and learned some stuff. I got the part down aboutnot knowing any thing about jazz though so that may a start though. I am still tgrying to learn guitar and am liking it still. The 4 years I put in at 'Hack School' helped, before I went I really wasnt sure of what I was doing. Now I know that I dont know what I am doing. I really Enjoy your playing though of that I am sure. Please drop me a line. I would like that . Your pal Bernie

Hey Redd,
Ive caught you a couple of times at the Continental Club, one of my favorite music haunts....even though I live near Chicago. One of those times you were with Bill Kirchen, and Im taking my 15 year old guitar playing son (I also play) to see Bill tomorrow...I just realized you will be there later this year...you are on the agenda...
Keep up the excellent work...
John

Hi Redd, a few months back I learned from one of my patients ( I am a chiropractor ) Kent Fors in Sweden that you had stayed with him at his house while attending the annual guitar show in Gothenburg. I almost died cause I?ve been listening to and attempting to play/sing like Merle Haggard since I bought my first record wit him in 1967. Here I had missed the chance to meet the finest guitar player in the world and at the same time missed my chance to sit down, have a beer and just breathe the air surrounding you and the country music giant you work for.
I just ordered my copy of the Merle Haggard custom telecaster. It takes 6 months from you order it till you get it here in Sweden. I want to ask you what I might have to do in terms of pick-ups to get the right sound or is it ok the way it comes from the custom shop ? Which amplifier is best suited for your sound or is it a special build too ?
Finally, I hope you come back to Sweden, would like to meet you. I make the best mexican food this side of the Atlantic. You?re welcome... and how do I get a copy of your DVD ? Karsten

I am a big fan of traditional country...not homaganized Nashville stuff! You play it real! I listen to Merle, Hank Thompson, Dale Watson, Bob Wills, Asleep at the wheel, Lefty Frizzell and Redd Volkaert! Keep on doing what you do. Hope to see you out there again soon!

Hey Red! Im glad I stumbled onto you website. I miss seeing you around Nashville. Your playing always made me smile. Some of my funniest memories are you and me working in the band at 'The Nashville Night Life' club. Give me a shout sometime if youre in Nashville. Moose
